NBA Finals 2010: Paul Pierce's, Ray Allen's, and Kevin Garnett's Last Chance

This could be the end of the Big Three's story-book ride in Boston.  They came to Boston to win a championship and did just that two years ago today.

June 17th, 2008, the Boston Celtics were crowned NBA Champions.  Imagine if this story could have another happy ending against the evil Lakers.

Not to mention 617 is a Boston area code.

Coincidental?  Or maybe a sign that these three veterans have enough left in the tank to go into the Staples Center and win one of the most hyped up games in the last 15 years of NBA History.

These chances don't come often.  Each and every player better raise their game to another level and do whatever it takes to be part of the winning squad.

Kevin Garnett is aging and, with his surgically repaired right knee, he has been inconsistent at times this season.  Then again, he is 34 years old and is not the same high flying dunker he was coming out of high school.

Paul Pierce will be 33 in October.  He was the NBA Finals MVP in 2008 and, with a remarkable game tonight that leads Boston to a victory, there's no reason he isn't the MVP of this team again.

The Truth has been with the Celtics his entire career.  He has endured the ups and downs, just like any other franchise in the NBA.  What's even more ironic is Pierce is a Los Angeles kid.  He grew up in Inglewood, California and was a big Lakers fan growing up.

Now he is the villain and has the chance to deliver an NBA title to Boston, while in his hometown, where he learned to play the game of basketball.

And last but not least is Walter Ray Allen.  One of the most prolific shooters in the game, he has made a living behind the three point line.  He will turn 35 years old in July.

He went from being one of the hottest shooters in Game Two, to struggling at home where he didn't make a three pointer in three games.

His shooting could be the difference in tonight's game.  The Celtics are going to have a tough time winning the rebounding battle, but if they are able to knock down perimeter shots, then they will be able to hang tough.

This has the potential to be the end of the road for Allen, Pierce, and Garnett.  These veterans all have the experience and talent to win Game Seven on the road.

It is a monumental task that has been put in front of them.

This core group of players are looking to raise the NBA Trophy one more time.  Ray Allen is an unrestricted free-agent and has said he wants to finish his career in Boston, but that is far from definite.  Many teams will most likely contact him and explore options because of the type of player he is.

Paul Pierce can opt out of his contract if he wants.  He has played his entire career in Boston, and it would be hard to watch The Truth in any other uniform but green.  Then again, he could be looking to change things up.

Then there is the coach, Doc Rivers, who has not put a definitive answer on returning next season.  His son, Austin will be a senior in high school and is exploring different options, as far as college basketball is concerned.

The length of the NBA Season weighs on everybody, and it's not easy to get through.  It lasts from October until tonight, June 17th.

This game could be one for the ages.

The core nucleus of Pierce, Allen, and Garnett are going to have to play quite possibly their best games as Celtics if they want to come out on top.

It's that simple.  Follow the yellow brick road, and Boston will be raising the NBA Trophy for the second time in three years.
